PRESS RELEASE Barton Marina Food Festival Cancelled due to COVID-19
It is with heavy hearts and much disappointment that the organisers of Barton Marina Food Festival must announce their 2020 event, which was due to take place on 12th & 13th April, will be cancelled.
The decision, which has not been taken lightly, has been made amidst the current situation with COVID-19.
Jamie Walker of CJ’s Events Warwickshire said: ‘COVID-19 is a fast moving and complex situation, the health, safety and welfare of our team, exhibitors, contractors and visitors must be taken seriously during this crisis. Whilst the current advice is for events to run as normal, it is highly likely this advice will change in the coming days, as reported by a number of media sources over the weekend.
‘The team have put a great deal of time, resource and energy into organising and promoting this year’s Barton Marina Food Festival and this is not a decision we’ve made lightly, but one we feel Government will back up shortly.
‘We realise the cancellation will be a huge disappointment to our exhibitors and thousands of visitors, and we sincerely apologise, but hope you respect our difficult decision to act now, removing uncertainty, reducing the amount of outlay by our food & drink exhibitors, suppliers and partners.
‘We have decided not to reschedule the Food Festival for later this year, and to return on Sunday 4th April & Monday 5th April 2021.
