As Government advice has moved forward, so have our operating procedures and the information below now reflects the latest Government advice. We remain, of course, determined to look after our personnel working at the Marina, while at the same time continuing to provide the essential health and safety levels and services to our customers.
This remains a critical time across the UK. Whilst some of the lockdown information has recently been eased by the Government, there is still the same risk to the health of each and every one of us, and we would request that this stays at the forefront of everyone’s minds and continues to influence everyone’s behaviour for the benefit of all those who work on, live on, or visit the Marina.
Please read all the following points and act on them all. They are all equally important. Thank you.
1 As a reminder, in line with Government advice, all overnight stays away from your primary residence remain disallowed across the UK. Therefore, whilst leisure customers may visit their boat to check on it or to carry out essential work on it, overnight stays in the Marina are still prohibited by law.
2 Waterways are now open for day trip cruising as you should know from Canal and River Trust and Environment Agency communications
3 At all times it remains critical that social distancing rules are followed on the Marina – so we all need to stay a minimum 2 metres apart, and any socialising we do with those outside of our own household can only be outdoors and in line with the Government mandate on maximum group size. Please remember also that some of our residential customers on the Marina may be shielding for health reasons, so please be mindful of that and respect their privacy and needs. Thank you.
4 As you know, the Marina Office is now open in line with social distancing rules. The Office is operating a policy of one in one out. You will also see that we have installed a temporary Perspex screen on the marina office counter, There are also clear floor markings showing the required distance between any visitors to the office
5 We hope thar we shall soon be able to open the shared facilities to all customers: showers, toilets, laundries. However, to minimise numbers visiting these, we would request that you please still continue to use your own on board facilities wherever possible.
6 As a reminder, chemical toilet disposal, pump out facilities and laundry facilities will remain open as previously (with some restrictions in place), however if you find others using the facilities when you arrive, please maintain the 2m distance rule and stand back until they have finished.
7 At all times whilst on the Marina, please do ensure that you continue to wash your hands regularly, again in line with Government advice. Our personnel are doing the same. We have also added a hand sanitising facility
8 If you are a leisure customer and have Covid 19 symptoms or are self-isolating for any reason, please do not visit the Marina under any circumstances. Please stay at home and follow the Government advice. The same applies if you are required to isolate as part of the Government ‘Track and Trace’ programme.
9 If you are a residential customer and have Covid 19 symptoms, or are self-isolating for any reason, please alert the Marina Office. Please then stay at home on your boat and follow the Government advice. The same applies if you are required to isolate as part of the Government ‘Track and Trace’ programme.
If Government advice changes again, we will update you on our website www.bartonmarina.co.uk and Facebook page. Thank you to all of you at this time of continued uncertainty. We urge you to stay safe and ensure that we all remain focused on protecting your health and those of all around you.
